What is the most accurate way of determining draw length?
By far the most accurate method is to use a light draw weight recurve bow designed specifically for the purpose. These bows are generally found at most pro shops and have the draw length written right on the arrow that you draw. Looking straight ahead, draw back until the elbow of your string arm points straight back. This will put your fist near the back of your jawbone. If you will be shooting fingers stop at a point where your bent index finger is at the corner of your mouth. If you don’t have access to such a bow, you can approximate your draw length very closely by making a fist and placing it against the wall. Extend your arm as you face the wall. Measure from the corner of your mouth to the wall. This will get you within an inch, generally close enough that the adjustments in the bow will compensate for any differences.
