Thought I had shared some of the photos we took in April on our 7 day safari to Zulu Nyala lodge.

We're packing cameras. This enclosed 5000 acres can support hundreds of tourists, but few hunters. There are many such operations around here- NE S Africa.

We stopped in Hong Kong on the way to Johannesburg and spent three days there on the return trip doing some touristy stuff, - 24 hours on the trip traveling and waiting on the last day getting home so went to bed.

Here's the modified Toyota land cruisers they use for Safari drives. The animals are used to the vehicles so we could get close- except for the warthogs who have a 'lunch complex' and take off quickly. The Panasonic FZ 200 'hybrid' camera has a 600 mm equivalent lens- nice for closeups without the weight of interchangeable lenses.

And sometimes they move close the vehicles- you don't want to be on the ground.

Nice variety of animals in those pictures... Wouldn't want to be in that VW if that Rhino decided it wanted to push it around some!

Very nice Greg. SA is definitely a different place to visit. Glad you had a good time.

I think this board is dead and no one has closed the coffin lid. it used to be fun here. Too bad.

On a bright note, I got a nice Coues deer last month in AZ. I tried to post a picture but it was too large. So I forgot about it.

Glad you're doing well. Take care.
