Today was probably the best day I have ever had in the woods and I didn't even take a deer. I saw about 22 deer today (I think,I lost count). Some of them were probably repeats, but not for sure. I know that I saw at least 8-9 different bucks, but no shooters. There were a couple hot does in the area. I didn't get to the stand until 10am because of errands this morning, but I started seeing deer as soon as I got in the stand, and it was non-stop all day. There was one sort of humorous encounter where a doe came storming out of the cornfield with a small buck and a larger buck behind it, hot on its trail. They flew past me a what seemed like 100 miles an hour. I felt kind of bad for the doe, she was running for her life. After they blew past me, about 3 seconds later, a tiny button buck came behind them at full throttle trying to keep up witht he chase. It was funny to watch because the button buck couldn't keep up and he was breathing heavy. I bet he was thinking "no tail is worth this".
Anyway, I had the hardest time getting out of my stand because so many deer kept showing up when I was trying to leave. After I finally got out, my buddy called me and took a nice 10 pointer, so I helped him haul it out (about had a stroke with that one, but it was worth it).
It was a great day. the wind was perfect and it is the same wind tomorrow, so I am going back there again tomorrow. giidddeeeaaappp!!!!
