Hello the camp.....

Postby loosenock on Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:45 pm

I was meandering through the internet forrest and came across the blog and decide it was a place I would like to visit.

I call myself Loosenock becuase of a few illconstructed arrows I made one time. I have lived in Colorado since 1949, I am 62 years old. I've been hunting with a bow since 1959 when I lived with my grandfather in southern Illinois. I am a Vetnam veteran, I served with the USN from 1965 until 1969.

I draw a longbow and shoot homespun arrows. I like making my own equipment and such. I am an amateur blade smith of 35 years.

Let me try out posting a pix of my Howard Hill longbows:

The two bows on the bottom. One is a rawhide backed Osage selfbow and the other is an English longbow.

Comments and questions always appreciated.

Thanks

Wow, nice collection!!! I notice you have Two Big Fives so you want to share one? ;)

There are a few of us more seasoned types who appreciate all you're into... not of lot of Trad posters though. I hope you will stick around and help inspire others who appreciate the pressure of a string full drawn and the arc of the arrow. 8-)

Loosenock-

You have some beautiful bows. My, late, father-in-law, Duane Howell of Pompano Beach, Florida was a bower. He was a China Marine in WW2. I will post some of his bows later. I shoot a osage long bow he made me. It is my favorite. I enlisted in the USMC in 1969-1990. I am an avid bow hunter at age 60. I do shoot compounds also.

Is it OK if I bother you with planning questions/info for a CO. hunt for deer later, if things materialize?
